Farm Family on August 28th, 2009 Eviction Day
This 99th mint harvest is a perfect time to reflect on how people have come to our aid during the farm "situation". We consider the farm the gift that keeps on giving.
We are dedicating this post to our father, J.E. Crosby. For he would wisely remind us, if he were alive, that perhaps this is a time to remember how the kindness of others was the thread that pulled us through the labyrinth. How the support and feedback of people who genuinely believed we could do it, became our strength. And, how our farm employees, friends, and volunteers worked tirelessly; never waivered, as if it were their own land that was slipping away, asking for nothing but the farm in return.
More importantly, it's the connection to something bigger that we are grateful; for family, for friends, for community, for the full circle experience, and perhaps for an urgent nudge from our Creator to remind us to pay it forward, to love, to teach, to educate, & to listen.
And many thanks for the thousands of orders throughout the US and various other countries. Thank you for caring enough to call, to offer guidance, direction and advice; and contact information. Thank you for all of our friends on facebook, for the reconnection with all of the people who have touched our lives in Michigan, and beyond.
